What you need for this DIY Project:

-A small pad of paper or sticky notes ?
-A pen or marker ?

Method:

1. Take your pad of paper and make sure it’s secure.
2. Time to make your picture look like it’s moving! In order to do this, we need to draw the same thing but change it slightly on each page so it looks like the image is moving.
3. Let’s try and make a face go from a frown to a smile or backwards.
On the last page draw a large circle with two eyes. This will be your first picture. Don’t worry about the mouth, we’ll add that in later.
4. Trace the same image on to all the other pages. Make sure you keep it in the same spot on each page!
5. Now let’s start drawing the mouth. We can start by doing a happy mouth on the last page of your pad.
6. It’s time to make the smile turn into a frown! Split the pages in half but do not separate the pad. Draw the mouth on the first half of the pages but on each page make it slightly flatter so that it eventually becomes a straight line. Once you’ve reached your halfway point and it is a straight line, you can draw it in the other direction to turn it into a frown.
7. Flip the pages forward and backwards to make your flip book face smile and frown. Congratulations on creating your very own animation!
8. Don’t forget to send us a picture of your amazing creation!
