This Data Protection policy sets out how Thinkbox Education Ltd trading as Mirodo Education uses and protects any information that you give us when you use Mirodo Education. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy/data is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Data Protection Controller

Mirodo Education has appointed a Director of Communications as the Data Protection Controller (DPC) who will endeavour to ensure that all personal data is processed in compliance with this Policy and the Principles of the General Data Protection regulation, The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

Mirodo Education recognises The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) adopted 27 April 2016, the two-year transition period and the application date of 25 May 2018 and is compliant with that directive.

We may collect the following information when you register to become a member of Mirodo Education:

  • Schools can send pupil details via a pupil import spreadsheet or upload themselves. Spreadsheets should be locked before electronically transmitted.

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Create Pupil/Teacher accounts
  • We may use and disclose your information, including content uploaded to or downloaded from our website, if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is reasonably necessary to:
  • enforce our Terms and Conditions (www.mirodoeducation.com);
  • respond to claims that any uploaded materials violate the rights of third-parties;-
  • respond to your customer service requests;
  • comply with legal process; and/or
  • protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Mirodo Education, its users, or the public.


We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Data is encrypted and stored on UK secure servers.

However, as you may be aware, all websites/systems are ultimately susceptible to being hacked, no matter what level of protection is put in place. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible in the unlikely event that hackers are able to break into the Website/system or obtain your personal details despite our security efforts in this area.

We recommend that you do not disclose your password to anyone to keep your data secure. Mirodo Education will never ask you for your password when contacting you by phone or email. Mirodo Education automatically logs users out after one hour of inactivity if they are logged in as an individual user. When you have finished using Mirodo Education we recommend that you log out. This is to ensure that others cannot access your account information.

On Mirodo education, for marketing purposes, we request personal information in the following areas:

Mailing List – Your email address in order to send you relevant news and updates.

Free Resources – Your first name, last name and email address. We use this information to send you a copy of the free resource you have downloaded.

Free Trial – First name, last name, email address, school name, position, postcode, telephone number. We use this information to either link you to your school account, or set up a new school account in order to provide you with trial access.

How we use cookies
